A unique limited edition screen print of Carlos Acosta the ballet dancer, designed, drawn and hand printed by me.
I love to dance and did ballet for 11 years. My grandad would take me to the ballet as a birthday present and I literally didn’t want to blink the whole way through the performance. Such is the grace, power, emotion and spectacle of the dancers. And then, I had the privilege of being able to see the Cuban ballet dancer Carlos Acosta. I’d recommend watching him dance on You Tube - he is spectacular. But more than that - he ploughs his energy into mentoring and supporting young talent and has set up a foundation to give young dancers the opportunities he had.
This is a variable edition of only 16 prints, printed in 4 colour ways. It captures Carlos Acosta in stillness, the man within the dancer and celebrates his 50th birthday. I sketched the image onto the screen using drawing fluid and printed them by hand at the Curwen Studios in Linton near Cambridge. It is printed onto acid free Southbank smooth paper that is 28 cm wide and 38cm long and could be cut a little for framing if desired. Each print is signed by the artist.
The print is available in simple black and white (black at check out), or in three further variables with shading added in teal, green or orange. Please see the photographs - while every effort has been made to photograph the art work well to show their true colours and textures. Please be aware that some colours may look slightly different, due to the nature of the printing, which is part of their charm. You can select the colour you would like at checkout.
The print will be posted between strong card and will include a certificate of authenticity. Postage within the UK is included in the price.
The sale of this print does not transfer the copyright of the work. The artist, Pamela Mulholland, retains all reproduction rights and copyrights.
