Monotype Print - Ferndance II

$56.31

A unique mono print designed, inked and hand printed by me.

I love it when you find those lush, almost tropical spots in the shade on a walk or in a garden. The inspiration for this print came from such a stroll on a hot day in the Barbara Hepworth Gardens in St. Ives Cornwall which I like to visit and sketch. I’ve always been drawn to her sculptures. In this series, I’ve tried to capture the ferns dancing in the gentle breeze under the glowing sun. In this particular print, the ferns are against a warm orange reflecting the heat I felt that day.

The Mono print was created using textures and ferns gathered from the forest and created using oil based inks, acid free paper and hand printed on a vintage press in The Curwen Print Studios using a variety of techniques. The use of the etching press enables a lot of the leaf detail to be captured in the print. This is the last monoprint available in this series.

The paper size is 38cm high by 28cm wide and the image itself is 30cm x 21.5cm. It is signed and the price includes UK postage. A certificate of authenticity will be provided. Framing is a personal choice but you have the option of displaying this unique print with the fern overhanging the orange inked area (which I rather like); or display behind a mountboard cropped to the central image if you like a cleaner line. If you go for the later I can supply a mountboard for an additional cost of £5 which will enable the print to fit a standard 16” x 12” frame.

Please note that the sale of this work does not transfer the reproduction works. the copyright remains with the artist, Pamela Mulholland.
