Well it was time........MulDutch.com has landed, less with a thud, and more with a a whispered  ta dah!  Why now?  Well I've just had a fantastic week at my second solo exhibition at the St. Ives Arts Club in Cornwall.  Lots of visitors wanted to stay connected, didn't have instagram and so, well here I am on a new platform.  This website links to my Etsy Shop and you can hop across to my instagram account from here.  But it was time....

The thing is, I am a face to face sort of artist.  And so the website will allow me to publicise where I will be selling or teaching next; as well as other inky and painterly news.

But maybe first, as this may be our first encounter, a bit about me so that we can get to know each other a bit more.  I first got into art about 7-8 years ago when I needed a way to switch off from a rewarding but stressful job.  I attended a few courses in St Ives and the more I dabbled, the more I needed, until the urge to immerse myself in a new way of living where I could be free to live in a different way and try something completely new became overwhelming.  After attending a print workshop I decided to leave work and study fine art print making at Curwen Print Study Centre, graduating in 2022.  Since then I have been self-employed working from my home studio surrounded by ink, paint and enveloped in a new creative life.

I'm a multi faceted artist and would describe myself as a colourist.  I create collections of work around themes and subjects.  I have a sunny disposition and you can see that in my work which is usually vibrant and uplifting.  I'm inspired by the Cornish coast, Epping Forest and what life throws my way.  I make no apology for being diverse in style - more of a choir than a single  artistic voice.  After all, the process of creating has to be rewarding as the financial again cannot be the driver.

And so my work plays across different print processes and mediums.  When asked "which is my favourite process" it will invarably be the one I am working on right now.  I create to the seasons, working with them.  Summer is a time to use the sunshine and gather plants.  Wrapped in layers of jumpers in the winter I will be carving wood or lino.  If I want to think something though I will carve.  If I'm in high energy mode, I will Monoprint or paint.  Am I painting a picture?  The process of creating is an outlet and so I give myself permission to wander, inspired by life, rather than box myself in.

So that's probably more than enough revelation for our first introduction.  I will be building the site up and my Etsy stock.  So welcome, please pop by often and I will introduce you to my work.
